Project Identity
World and Sound
Crick Kinnard is the Appalachian blues and country project within Pawn Island Records. The project's world is rough-edged, plainspoken, and emotionally worn-in: songs about beaten hearts, complicated love, humor, damage, appetite, and survival.
The project should not be over-sanded into clean Nashville language. Its value is in the grit: a lived-in, barroom, front-porch, backroad sensibility that can be funny, bruised, and sincere at the same time.
Crick Kinnard belongs in the lane where country storytelling meets blues wear, where rough phrasing and plain speech carry real emotional force.
